Stick’s Book Series is a poetic, artful adventure of a simple girl who learns life’s fundamental lessons in magical and beautiful ways. This first book, Stick’s Masterpiece, illustrates the struggle we all endure of fearing we are not good enough.  This fear can make us freeze, too afraid to try.  Ironically, this fear is self-fulfilling.  If we never try, we will surely fail. Stick learns that while she may not know how to paint a masterpiece, she can do small and simple things.  These small and simple things, composed over a life-time, are what become our masterpiece.

The Brothers Whim Begins

I talked with my brothers Dusty and Randy, and my cousin Aaron, and we’re doing it!  We’re going to create the best stories we can, and share them for free on the internet through our new website, Brothers Whim.

We believe in the internet.  The internet is the most powerful copy machine ever invented.  The internet can replicate an idea and instantaneously deliver it anywhere in the world for free.  That blows our mind, and we are determined to write this magical power into the pages of our own personal history.

We believe in stories.  Stories are fun, but they also have the power to change things in serious ways.  A good story sucks you in, and for a moment, you become somebody else – a superhero, a nerd, a king, a slave.  If you let it in, a story can change the way you think, and therefore the way you see.  It is our hope to add perhaps a bit more friendship, beauty, compassion, courage, and trust to this world through the wonderful art of storytelling.
